LARGE ANTIQUE GOTHIC CHURCH HYMN BOARD, OAK CARVED, MANNER OF PUGIN.

Item: Huge Carved Oak Gothic Hymn Board.

Description: Beautiful quality and extremely large carved Gothic oak hymn board removed from a church. Easily the best I've seen in years. These make stunning menu or notice boards in a kitchen, cafe, restaurant or pub. There is a Gothic arch with carved finial above. Also five spaces for hymns which slit in via the right side. The English oak has a lovely grain and colour. There is an additional surface-mounted brass plaque on the base which could easily be removed. Fabulous statement piece. We will be listing some rare and interesting church antiques over the next few weeks, all fresh to the market, to include a fine pair of Arts & Crafts pedestals, a large candlestick, Glastonbury chairs, pews and more. Please remember to check our listings.

Measurements: Width 685mm (27"). Depth 105mm (4 1/4"). Height mm (75 1/2").

Condition Report: In very good, solid condition throughout and ready for use. The side galleries on the top do appear to be missing a small piece each, though not easy to spot.

PAIR LARGE VICTORIAN CHURCH PEDESTALS /STANDS, GOTHIC /AESTHETIC, ANTIQUE C1880

Item: Large 19th Century Church Pedestals.

Description: Gorgeous and extremely decorative pair of Victorian Gothic pedestals removed from a local church. Heavy quality pitch pine throughout. These stands would be perfect for a large country house, barn conversion, hotel etc. The solid square tops with concave frieze with neat 'ball' detailing on legs carved with a simple cross with matching ball, ebonised and joined by a square base. Would look spectacular with large ferns or marble or bronze busts perhaps. A rare pair for the interior designer. Low start price - I'd expect to see a price tag on these of upwards of £1500 in a smart London shop.

Measurements: Height 1110mm. Width 555mm (square).

Condition Report: In good, solid and original condition throughout. Only minor faults are a couple of balls missing from cross centres and slight opening og plank tops. Nothing which detracts. We have given these a coat of clear beeswax and a buffing ready for their new home.

GEORGE III FLAME MAHOGANY LARGE BREAKFRONT SIDEBOARD / SERVER

Description:
*This large sideboard is a very good quality piece of antique furniture that dates to the George III period, and it will make a characteristic addition to any room or large hallway.
*It's very substantial and partly made from solid mahogany which is finished with excellent flame mahogany veneers, and the sizable breakfront top is fitted with a flame mahogany fronted return.
*The door and all 3 drawers are fitted with a lock, and 1 key works the 2 centre drawers while the other key works the cupboard and right hand drawer locks.
*The middle bottom drawer is fitted with fixed partitions, while the partitions at the bottom of the deep right hand drawer are removable.
*All 3 drawers have solid oak linings, and 2 have quality dovetailed joints.
*Well turned solid mahogany knobs are fitted to the door and 2 of the drawers, and superbly turned and reeded solid mahogany legs provide a hugely pleasing means of support.
*The condition is generally good when you consider the sideboards age, however there are age related marks of use as you would expect, including rubs, scuffs, dings and dents here and there. There are marks, stains and shallow scratches in the top, and there are some dents across the front edges of the top as well as a chip in the front left hand edge.
A lot / if not most of the lengths of moulding are missing from across the lower front and side edges, and there's quite a lot of damage / missing pieces of cockbrading from around the outside edges of the door and drawer fronts.
There's an age related shrinkage crack down the front of the door, and the same applies across the cupboard floor and across the bottom of the top centre drawer. The bottom centre drawer was originally baize lined, and the lining has predominantly been removed but remnants of it untidily remain in places.
There's damage to the framework above the right hand drawer, and there are some dings and dents around the edges of the knobs and legs.

VICTORIAN INLAID CARVED WALNUT & BURR WALNUT ALL DRAWER MIRROR BACK SIDEBOARD

Description:
*This mirror back sideboard is an excellent quality piece of antique furniture that dates to the Victorian period, and it will make a very impressive addition to any room or large hallway.
*It's well constructed, very substantial and beautifully presented, and the burr walnut veneered drawer fronts compliment the darker finished solid walnut framework very well.
*The wonderfully fashioned mirror back features excellent carvings and decorative satinwood inlays, and it's large shaped mirror is bevelled, as is the small circular mirror above. We turned and partly carved columns further heighten the appearance of the top section, and substantial carved front brackets are located below.
*The breakfront top of the base provides a conveniently sized area of surface space, and the nicely grained dovetailed drawer fronts are fitted with excellent non original pierced brass handles which remain perfectly in keeping with the sideboard age. The protruding centre drawer is surrounded by carved framework, and the shaped front feet are connected by a neatly carved sweeping apron.
*The condition is generally very good, with mainly minor age related marks of use to mention, including some rubs, scuffs and dings / small dents here and there in the edges and corners. There are also some minor marks and surface scratches in the top of the base.

Victorian Mahogany Adjustable Over Bed Table

This bed table is an excellent quality piece of antique furniture, and it dates to the Victorian period.

Please note that it was designed to go with a Victorian bed which would have had plenty of height clearance at the bottom to enable the base to go under, therefore a modern mattress base or bed frame will not be suitable. It doesn't necessarily have to be used with a bed, it will alternatively make a very useful side table that could go in any room.

The bowed end tapering top is made from quality solid mahogany, and the turned tapering column has a second column within it to enable the top to be raised and lowered. The top also rotates approximately 45 degrees.

The rounded end tapering platform base is mahogany veneered, and it's fitted with a trio of well turned solid mahogany feet which have casters inserted into them. 2 of the casters are original and made from metal while the third is a non original wooden replacement.

Condition

The condition is generally good, however there are several age related marks of use to mention, most notably in the column, base and turned feet which all have rubs marks, scuffs, dings, and dents. The outer column has some age related shrinkage cracks, as does the widest end of the base, and the base also has some veneer damage and chips.

The top has some marks of use and it leans a little, i.e it's not perfectly level, and the adjustable section of the column / the inner column has age / use related rub marks and abrasions due to being raised and lowered over the years.

We've included 20 large pictures further down this page which show the table from several relevant angles, therefore it's sold as seen and as accurately described. It's also priced in accordance with it's condition.

Measurements

The height measures 29 1/2 to 45 inches.

The width measures 34 inches.

The depth measures 17 inches.

The height to the top of the base measures 7 3/4 inches.
