Preston Antique Centre Gallery

Part of a set, a piece of artwork specially commissioned from a contemporary British artist for the Millenium Dome. It has a fully illuminated backlit wooden frame with perspex cover. Following closure of the Dome, some Zones were dismantled by the sponsoring organisations, but much of the content was auctioned by Henry Butchers Auctioneers. This one off piece was one of the items sold and is now available for sale again.

A Squires Gin squashed bottle ashtray. After some research I believe this to be attributed to the craftsman potter Reg Moon (1930-2009). He made these in the 1980's and the artists Gilbert and George bought a gross of these. In the 1970's they had made 200 squashed Gordons gin bottles named 'Reclining Drunk'. These bottles were numbered.
The engraving on the base says, 'Squires Gin London England', and has the number '238 E' underneath.
